Like many sandbox survival games, Core Keeper throws you right into the action. The lack of clear objectives and demands from the game is part of what makes it good cozy fun, but it can also be a bit confusing.
You’ll get little XP bonuses for pretty much all the actions you’re already doing, like mining, running, and crafting. But when you see a message that says you’ve got a new skill point, go assign it in your skills menu right away.
At least I managed to swing my sword and not a pudding this time. But afterwards I ran back home through brightly lit tunnels as fast Core Keeper Gameplay as my little legs could take me, and now I'm cooking up some glowing larvae steaks.
